Kooth is a free, confidential online mental health and wellbeing service available to children and young people across Derby and Derbyshire. The platform requires no formal referral, making it easy to access support when it is needed most. Users can simply create an account and begin using the service.

Accessible 365 days a year via mobile, tablet, or desktop devices, Kooth provides a safe and supportive digital environment where young people can explore their mental health and wellbeing. The service is available from 12:00 noon to 10:00 pm Monday to Friday and 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm on weekends.

Kooth offers a range of support options, including access to accredited counsellors, moderated peer-support forums, and a comprehensive library of articles and resources covering a wide variety of mental health and wellbeing topics. Tegan’s Butterflies in Paradise is a welcoming charity dedicated to supporting families of children and young adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Founded and run by parents who have first-hand experience of raising children with additional needs, the charity understands the challenges families can face and provides a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for them to connect.

The charity offers a range of social and support opportunities, enabling children, young people, and their families to meet others with similar experiences, build friendships, and feel a sense of belonging. Tegan’s Butterflies in Paradise creates a space where individuals can be themselves, gain confidence, and access peer support from a community that truly understands their journey.

Family Fund

Family Fund is a UK charity that provides grants and practical support to families on a low income who are raising a disabled or seriously ill child or young person. The charity aims to ease financial pressures by helping families access essential items and experiences that they may otherwise struggle to afford.

Grants can be used for a wide range of needs, including family breaks, digital equipment, household appliances, clothing, bedding, furniture, and play equipment. In addition to financial assistance, Family Fund offers a variety of services and resources designed to support parents and carers in achieving the best possible outcomes for their child and family.
