Student Voice

At St Andrew's, it's important to us that all of our pupils are able to have their voice heard and contribute their thoughts, wishes and feelings to the effective running of our school. In order to be fully inclusive, pupil input through Pupil Voice activities are presented in many ways.

Curriculum delivery

Our curriculum is designed to give all of our pupils the ability to communicate their thoughts and feelings in a way that best enables them to be heard. Through our timetabled lessons, pupils are then encouraged and supported to have their opinion on key topics and school projects heard and used to influence change.

Pupil Surveys

Each term, Shaw Education Trust, issue pupil surveys to capture the pupils opinion and feedback on their current school life.

Derby City SEND Ambassadors

We are proud to be founding members and regular attenders of Derby City SEND Ambassadors. This is a Derby City Council initiative that facilitates Derby SEND school meeting on a regular basis to voice tier thoughts on ongoing projects in the city such as regeneration projects, home-school transport etc.
