SUMMER TERM HOME LEARNING
W.C. 13th July
Hi Skye Class
It's hard to believe that there are only two weeks left of this very strange term. We're looking forward to things getting back to being more normal in September and I'm sure you're all looking forward to the structure and routine of being back in school full time. While you're counting down the days until September why not practise learning the days of the week using the timetable below and click on the youtube link to listen to our familiar days of the week song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CuphkWcdDE I know some of you have been working really hard at learning the days of the week at home! In the meantime we're hoping for some more sun and that we can all enjoy getting out and about more in the summer. Below are some activities to work on and keep you busy at home. We're enjoying seeing some of you back in school and for those of you at home we'd love to hear what you've been up to!
If you'd like more activities to do then click on the icons below and you'll find lots of fun work activities. If there's anything else we can do to support you then please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org

Reading at home
Oxford Owl is an online platform that is home to fantastic free online teaching, learning and assessment resources. This includes a range of ebooks. It is also home to Read Write Inc Phonics resources. School have paid for the subscription and it allows parents/students to sign in and use it at home. It includes tablet friendly ebooks and helpful tips and activities to do at home to support learning. Even if your young person isn't a word reader they can still gain a lot from looking through the picture stories in the ebooks.
Please follow the attached crib sheet to gain access to this great learning resource.
Our topic for the term is the Victorians which provides lots of scope to dress up and enjoy sensory stories based on Oliver Twist and a Christmas Carol. Check out the photos in our Oliver Twist sensory story below!
Our topic for the term is the stories of Roald Dahl and we're becoming familiar with 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' in Literacy through our sensory story. We're also enjoying our Science lessons where we're looking at materials and how they change - melting and hardening chocolate is a favourite activity and fits in well with our topic. With Valentine's Day and Easter there's a bit of a chocolate theme going on this term! Click on the links below to see our subject specific learning.
British Science Week March 2020
In Skye we have been celebrating British Science week by taking part in a 'Bubble Challenge'. We've been experimenting with bubble wands that are round, square, triangle and oval shaped to see which wands make the best bubbles. We've also been having great fun adding food colouring to bubble mixture to create different coloured bubbles. In case you're wondering round and oval bubble wands make the best bubbles!
