Skye Class

Welcome to Skye Class!

Skye Class Team (2020/21)

Happy New Year Skye Class.  We hope that you have all stayed well and had a good Christmas break with your families.  Our theme for the term is Circuses and Fairgrounds - lots of colour and fun to brighten up the new year! The planning overview form below gives more details about what students will be learning in each subject this term.

We hope to see you in school but during this period of uncertainty it's possible that you may have to be at home.  Below are some work activities to keep you busy at home if you would like to do them.

We are a small group of Year 10 and 11 students on the Autistic Spectrum who enjoy developing our awareness of the world around us through sensory exploration.  Our topic based learning provides lots of opportunities to engage and have fun in a wide range of learning experiences.  Through practical activities we work at developing our functional skills and particularly focus on using PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) to develop our communication skills.

AUTUMN TERM

Our topic for the term is 'Islands' which provides plenty of scope for imaginative learning through sensory stories, creative design projects and some innovative treasure hunting!  Click on the icons below to find out what the students are learning about in each subject area and see photos of the students at work.

'Be safe be seen' science challenge! We've been marking national road safety week by exploring which materials can be seen in the dark.
