Shetland

13/7/20

Hello everybody,

We hope that you are all well and staying safe and happy at home. The weather looks to be a little nicer this week, so I think it will be a really good week to get all those jobs done at home and in the garden.

Cindi, Sarah and I miss you all and we are looking forward to the day when we are all back at school. Our class timetable is still full of things you can do to keep yourselves busy and don't forget to look at the at home hub for more ideas.

Please keep practicing all your skills such as counting, money, number, reading and self care.

Don't forget about:

Mr Motivator via You Tube. This is a great way to keep fit and is fun for everybody.

If you want something a little calming, Katie from Arran class will be putting a really nice Yoga link onto the school website in the At Home Hub, in the Wellbeing section.

There is a timetable attached which is just a suggestion.

Take Care

Wendy, Cindi and Sarah

Welcome to Shetland Class- 2019/2020

Hello and welcome to Shetland class!

Happy New Year and we hope you all had a lovely Christmas holiday. Over the Christmas period we did many events and activities such as the cinema to watch frozen, the classical music of the snow man and show, and the harvester for a love meal. Everyone really enjoy themselves we also had a new Christmas tree this year which the students really enjoyed decorating

Our day starts with us looking at the date, day and month, the weather and watching Newsround to see what is going off around the world, we have had some excellent discussions about some really interesting topics.

This term we will be focusing on numeracy and literacy and PSHE, citizenship, Lego therapy and much more to work towards their independents.

We will continue to develop our independent skills in the kitchen by shopping for ingredients online and cooking/preparing our own meals. This half term we will be making a variety of meals such as jacket potatoes, stir fry, pizza and lasagne.

This half term we will be accessing a variety of places in the local community and further afield using public transport. Such as public library, work experience at the holiday inn, gym…
